Methodological seminar “Theoretical principles of conducting scientific research”

On March 23, 2026, the Institute of Higher Education of the NAES of Ukraine held a Methodological seminar on the topic “Theoretical principles of conducting scientific research”.

The purpose of the event was to discuss some methodological issues related to the definition and formulation of the main concepts and results of scientific research, the need for clarification of which arose during the Reporting Scientific Conference of the Institute of Higher Education of the NAES of Ukraine (February 27, March 2, 2026). The report, presented by Dr. Hab. in Philosophy, Senior Researcher, Chief Researcher of the Department of Social and Institutional Transformations in Higher Education of the Institute of Higher Education of the NAES Yurii Melkov, in particular, considered the structure of scientific research, identified its major components and results, such as a scientific idea, hypothesis, scientific principle, concept, model, theory, law, regularity, etc. Special attention was paid to the methodological features of scientific research in the field of humanities and social sciences, as well as in the modern situation of nonlinearity and historical dynamics of types of scientific rationality.
