The Round Table Discussion “Philosophy of Education for the 21st Century: Achievements and Prospects (to the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Vladlen Lutai)”

On March 5, 2026 at 10:00, the Institute of Higher Education of the NAES of Ukraine will hold a “round table” discussion on the topic “Philosophy of Education for the 21st Century: Achievements and Prospects (to the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Vladlen Lutai)”.

Vladlen Stepanovych Lutai (March 5, 1926 – February 15, 2013) was an outstanding Ukrainian philosopher, a long-time chief researcher at the Institute of Higher Education of the NAES of Ukraine, known for his research in the field of scientific methodology, dialectics, synergetics, and especially philosophy of education. Vladlen Lutai became the author of the first Ukrainian book on the philosophy of education, thereby becoming one of the founders of this direction in our philosophical thought.

фото Владлен Степанович Лутай ~2005 The centennial anniversary of the thinker, whose works were dedicated to the conceptualization of synergetic philosophy and the problems of forming a worldview of the 21st century, is a good occasion not only to recall and actualize the creative heritage of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher, but also to summarize some results and outline the prospects for the development of the entire direction of philosophy of education.

  • Philosophical foundations of modern higher education
  • Synergetic paradigm in the philosophy of education
  • Main features of the formation of a worldview in the 21st
  • Architectonics of higher education in the age of the Fifth industrial revolution
  • Philosophy of education for “Society 5.0”

Academics and scientific-pedagogical workers, postgraduate students, students and everyone interested in philosophical problems of education are invited to participate in the round table discussion.

The texts of the reports can be published as articles in the journal “Philosophy of Education” (Iss. 1, 2026).
The event will be held in a mixed mode, offline and online. A link to the Zoom conference will be sent to all registered participants.
